The pitbike scene started when Racers at Motocross and Supercross events brought their little CRF/XR 50's to get around. From there the bikes became louder and wilder with higher bars and supension. They became so modified that they were little racers in their own right. The cost of the modifications started to blow out and cheaper made bikes as completes started to flood the market. As with anything, you get what you pay for and some of the more readlily available ones on eBay started to let people down. No parts and poor build quality. Dirtmax are a manufacturer that have built bikes that are a cut above the rest. These bikes are of a much higher quality and do not cost much more. The range is from $1200 to $3395.
